Description

The primary role of the Warehouse Delivery Driver/Attendant is to assist with general warehousing activities, including loading, off-loading and delivery of dry and cold stock to their destination safely, accurately and in-tact. Drivers/Attendants are also expected to keep logs of their activities and make sure their vehicles are clean and maintained in good working order. Drivers/Attendants are required to check their loads to make sure all items required for each order are present on the truck and are not damaged. When delivering items to a store, they must ensure that signatures are obtained to document the store's receipt of the items. He/She is required to work on a shift basis via continuous rotating shifts or otherwise as may be required from time to time and also on public holidays and weekends.

Requirements

  • 3 CXC passes or equivalent

  • Must have a valid truck driver’s permit and a clean driver’s record

  • A minimum of 5 years experience as a driver of a truck

  • Must be at least 25 years of age

  • Must be able to work on a shift basis via continuous rotating shifts or two shifts a day or otherwise as may be required from time to time and also on public holidays and weekends.

  • Ability to read safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedures manuals.

  • Police certificate of good character

  • Ability to meet physical requirements including the ability to lift heavy loads.

  • Drivers must maintain a neat, professional appearance and be willing to work a variety of shifts.

  • Good verbal communication skills.

  • Must be able to work well in a team environment

  • Ability to read maps and perform basic mathematical calculations.

Responsibilities

  • Efficiently and carefully offloads containers.

  • Pulls stocks from the warehouse for loading onto truck destined to restaurant locations in a safe and efficient manner.

  • Offloads stock/product/materials from suppliers neatly, orderly and carefully into the warehouse in a safe, efficient and accessible manner.

  • Packs and unpacks items to be stocked on shelves in the Warehouse.

  • Assists in monthly stock taking and maintaining accurate records while counting stock on a daily basis.

  • Assists in disposing of any items, approved by the Warehouse Manager for dumping.

  • Cleans and maintains supplies, tools and equipment and storage areas in order to ensure compliance with all food safety regulations.

  • Keeps all areas of the warehouse clean and neat at all times, inclusive of employee bathroom facilities

  • Prepares truck for operating by loading of the truck, securing items and verifying the accuracy of the delivery invoices.

  • Inspects truck tires, lights, breaks, fluids, etc to ensure safe cost effective performance with preventative maintenance top of mind.

  • Maintains a clean and tidy truck.

  • Maintains and monitors truck maintenance and driving record requirements, and maintain required documents for safety, security and quality processes.

  • Ensures that the truck and goods are safe at all times.

  • Delivers orders via the most effective route to ensure complete orders are delivered according to established time frames and stores needs.

  • Calls the Warehouse Supervisor upon arrival at the first store and again at the point of the departure from the last store.

  • Calls the Warehouse Supervisor within fifteen (15) minutes if there are delays or any other obstacle in the delivery of goods to the stores. No payment would be authorized and/or approved should any claim for overtime be made where no phone call or communication has been made with the Warehouse Supervisor within the fifteen (15) minutes timeframe informing about the delays in delivery to stores.

  • Calls and maintains communication with the Warehouse Supervisor during deliveries to ensure any updated instructions are received.

  • Documents delivery, accuracy and receipt of orders by the stores according to Warehouse directives and immediately reports any discrepancies and/or damages to the Warehouse Supervisor.

  • Efficiently completes all Warehouse and Franchise forms and submits to the Warehouse Supervisor, as per standard warehouse requirements.

  • Assists in the loading of products destined to all restaurants/Brands under the umbrella of Prestige Holdings Limited, efficiently and safely.

  • Offloads of all goods in stores carefully and efficiently and places the items in the assigned areas allotted to the items in the store.

  • Assists in the monitoring of temperatures of goods delivered to the stores.

  • Performs other related duties/spontaneous errands as may be required by the job function.
