Description

As a machinist, you will play a crucial role in manufacturing processes by operating various machines to produce precision metal parts and components. Your expertise in interpreting technical drawings, setting up machines, and executing machining operations will contribute directly to the quality and efficiency of production.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or apprenticeship in machining preferred.

  • Proven experience as a machinist in a manufacturing environment.

  • Proficiency in reading technical drawings and blueprints.

  • Strong knowledge of machining processes, tools, and materials.

  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects.

  • Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for operating machines and handling tools.

  • Experience on the CNC Machine would be an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Machine Operation: Operate and monitor machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, drill presses, grinders to fabricate metal parts according to specifications.

  • Setup and Calibration: Set up machines by installing and aligning fixtures, tools, and workpieces. Calibrate machines to ensure accuracy and quality of output.

  • Reading Blueprints: Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and engineering specifications to understand the requirements for each part or component.

  • Material Handling: Select appropriate raw materials and load them into machines. Handle materials safely and efficiently to minimize waste and maximize productivity.

  • Machining Techniques: Utilize various machining techniques such as turning, milling, drilling, boring, and grinding to shape and finish workpieces to the required dimensions and tolerances.

  • Quality Control: Monitor machining processes to ensure that finished parts meet quality standards and specifications. Perform inspections using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
