To develop, monitor and implement the organization's health and safety plan and to ensure the organization is compliant with health and safety legislation to reduce/prevent hazards, dangers and accidents.
At least a Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety or NEBOSH equivalent.
At least two (2) years’ experience in the health & safety field.
Must be able to conduct internal investigations and submit written reports.
Competent in Microsoft Office.
Good communication and interpersonal skills with a strong customer service focus.
Develop and implement processes according to ISO 45001 methods and tools designed to measure, evaluate, and monitor departmental safety performance.
Inspect the workplace for potential hazards, identify potential hazards, assess the risks, report potential hazards and make recommendations on a monthly basis.
Conduct drills, such as fire drills, to ensure equipment is properly functioning and staff are aware of what to do in an emergency.
Respond to and investigate accidents and emergencies.
Plan safety training for the company.
