Learn basic well operations including identifying different rig types and drill string components, BOP procedures and equipment, HSE procedures and guidelines, and other safety and service protocols and guidelines under direct supervision
· Technician Diploma or related experience in a mechanical, technical, or similar field
· Strong mechanical aptitude.
· Basic computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office.
· Must be able to work in a team environment.
Must be able to perform the essential functions in a fast-paced and high-stress environment
· Prepare for jobs by assisting with tool maintenance, p-job, and post-job checkout.
· Assist in rigging up and down equipment.
· Assist in tool string make-ups and assembly of tools.
· Assist with maintaining, cleaning, and performing preventative maintenance on equipment.
· Performing basic duties at the well site and at the shop.
· Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives to promote safe and efficient operations.
· Communicate with co-workers, supervisors, company men, and rig supervisors on the well site.
· Ensure job deliverables are accurate and delivered on time.
· Participate in pre-job and Toolbox meetings with crew members.
· Maintain good, safe working order of equipment according to standards, reporting problems or deviations.
· Ensure individual and crew work safety.
· Prepare equipment for rig up and rig down times.
· Operate the equipment for rig up and rig down times.
· Operate the equipment according to competency level and job requirements.
· Wear PPE and observe HSE policies.
· Maintain the required safety training.
· Other duties and special projects assigned.
