Seeking a skilled and experienced Procurement Officer to join our client in the dynamic and fast-paced Energy sector. In this role, you will play a pivotal role in managing the procurement activities, ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services to support our operations and projects. Additionally, you will be responsible for developing and implementing procurement strategies, negotiating contracts, and managing supplier relationships to optimize value and minimize risk. You will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, including project managers, engineers, and finance personnel, to understand procurement needs and requirements and ensure alignment with organizational goals and objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Proven experience as a Procurement Officer, preferably in construction or industrial projects.

  • Strong knowledge of procurement processes, sourcing strategies, and supplier management.

  • Familiarity with relevant procurement regulations, laws, and industry standards.

  • Proficiency in procurement software and tools.

Responsibilities

Procurement Planning and Strategy:

  • Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to develop procurement plans and strategies.

  • Identify procurement needs and requirements for materials, equipment, and services based on project specifications.

  • Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers, products, and pricing.

Vendor Management and Sourcing:

  • Identify and evaluate potential vendors and suppliers, ensuring they meet quality, reliability, and pricing criteria.

  • Solicit bids, quotations, and proposals from vendors and conduct bid evaluations.

  • Negotiate contracts, terms, and conditions with suppliers to secure favorable agreements.

Purchase Order Processing:

  • Prepare purchase orders and review purchase requisitions for accuracy and completeness.

  • Ensure timely processing and approval of purchase orders.

  • Coordinate with the finance department to ensure adequate budget allocations for procurement activities.

Order Tracking and Logistics:

  • Monitor the status of orders, ensuring on-time delivery of materials and equipment to the construction site.

  • Address any order delays or discrepancies and implement corrective actions.

  • Coordinate with logistics providers to optimize transportation and delivery schedules.

Inventory Management:

  • Maintain accurate records of inventory levels and stock availability.

  • Anticipate inventory needs and replenish stock as required to avoid shortages.

  • Implement inventory control measures to prevent wastage or overstocking.

Quality and Compliance:

  • Ensure that all procured materials and equipment meet the required quality standards and specifications.

  • Verify the necessary certifications, licenses, and compliance documents of suppliers.

  • Implement proper quality control procedures in the procurement process.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain comprehensive procurement documentation, including contracts, purchase orders, and supplier information.

  • Prepare regular procurement reports for management and project teams.

  • Document any procurement-related issues and resolutions for future reference.
