Description

Our client is currently seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Junior Accountant to join our finance team. As a Junior Accountant in the Energy sector, you will work closely with the senior accounting staff to support various financial activities, including but not limited to, accounts payable/receivable, general ledger entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

  • Basic knowledge of accounting principles and practices.

  • Proficiency in MS Excel and other accounting software.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial data entry.

  • Good organizational and time management skills.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities.

  • Previous experience or internships in accounting are a plus but not mandatory.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of the HR team.

Responsibilities


Financial Data Entry and Bookkeeping:

  • Assist in recording financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and ensure data integrity.

Accounts Payable and Receivable:

  • Process invoices and payments for vendors and suppliers.

  • Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.

  • Assist in managing customer invoicing and collections.

Bank Reconciliation:

  • Assist in bank reconciliation to ensure that all transactions are accurately recorded

  • Identify and resolve discrepancies in bank statements.

Financial Reporting Support:

  • Assist in preparing financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.

  • Compile data and assist in generating financial reports for management.

Tax Compliance Support:

  • Assist in preparing and filing tax returns, ensuring compliance with relevant tax regulations.

  • Provide documentation and support for tax-related audits.

Record Keeping and Documentation:

  • Maintain proper documentation for financial transactions and accounting records.

  • Organize and manage financial documents and files.

Assist in Audit Preparation:

  • Collaborate with the finance team to prepare documents and schedules for internal and external audits.

  • Support auditors during the audit process.

Support for Month-end and Year-end Closing:

  • Assist in month-end and year-end closing procedures, including reconciliations and adjustments.

Ad-hoc Financial Analysis:

  • Provide support for financial analysis and reporting projects as assigned.
