Accounting Analyst

 An Accounting Analyst is a semi-professional who is responsible for maintaining financial records on a day-to-day basis, including recording a wide range of transactions, preparing periodic reports and advice to management. His/her duties will also include providing administrative assistance to accountants as well as preparing statements that confirm the accuracy of database information.

Requirements

 • Four (4) CSEC/GCE passes inclusive of Principle of Accounts/Mathematics and English Language.

• Diploma in Accounting/Finance or completed Level III AAT/CAT.

• Three (3) or more years’ working experience in a similar capacity preferably including commercial or financial services involving cash management and reporting

• Knowledge of accounting software such as SAP, Quickbooks,Loyverse and Peachtree.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel and Powerpoint.

• Organizational skills and the ability to manage deadlines.

• Strong sense of confidentiality.

• Excellent interpersonal, analytical and communication skills

Responsibilities

Daily

• Prepare vouchers and cheques for approved payments.

• Preparation of customer receipts and ensure deposits are done on schedule.

• Input transactions into Accounting System.

• Maintain petty cash float, ensuring that all cash issued is posted to the correct General Ledger Account.

• Prepare daily reports of transactions.

 Weekly

Prepare report for the week and Plan for subsequent week

Monthly

• Reconcile the bank accounts and follow-up all reconciling items.

• Preparation of monthly management accounts and such supporting schedules as required by Management.

• Ensure that all statutory obligations and supplier accounts, including utility bills, are paid in a timely manner.

• Preparation of Monthly Operating Report in support of the management accounts.
