Requirements

  • High school diploma.

  • Valid food handling certification is preferred.

  • Sound knowledge of cooking methods and techniques.

  • Proven experience working as a Head Chef, Cook or Pastry Maker.

  • The ability to follow recipes.

  • The ability to work in a team.

  • The ability to stand for extended periods of time.

  • Effective communication skills.

Responsibilities

Head Chef:

  1. Overseeing and managing the kitchen operations.

  2. Developing and designing menus in collaboration with the management.

  3. Supervising and training kitchen staff, ensuring they adhere to high-quality standards.

  4. Ensuring food preparation is efficient, timely, and meets company standards.

  5. Ordering and maintaining kitchen supplies and ingredients.

  6. Managing food costs and budgeting.

  7. Ensuring compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations.

  8. Implementing and maintaining kitchen procedures and best practices.

  9. Handling any kitchen-related issues or emergencies.

  10. Ensuring a positive and cooperative work environment in the kitchen.

Cook:

  1. Preparing and cooking meals according to recipes and guidelines.

  2. Organizing and setting up workstations with necessary ingredients and cooking equipment.

  3. Assisting with menu planning and contributing creative ideas.

  4. Monitoring food stock and placing orders as needed.

  5. Ensuring food quality and presentation meet company standards.

  6. Cleaning and maintaining kitchen equipment and work areas.

  7. Collaborating with other kitchen staff to complete food orders efficiently.

  8. Following food safety and hygiene practices.

  9. Adhering to instructions from the head chef or kitchen supervisor.

  10. Assisting in food preparation for special events or catering services.

Pastry Maker:

  1. Creating and preparing a variety of pastries, desserts, and baked goods.

  2. Measuring and mixing ingredients to ensure accurate recipes.

  3. Designing and decorating pastries with artistic flair.

  4. Monitoring oven temperatures and baking times to achieve optimal results.

  5. Developing new pastry recipes and updating existing ones.

  6. Managing inventory and ordering pastry supplies.

  7. Ensuring that pastries are of high quality and meet company standards.

  8. Collaborating with other kitchen staff to coordinate pastry offerings with the menu.

  9. Maintaining a clean and organized pastry section in the kitchen.

  10. Adhering to food safety and hygiene regulations for pastry preparation.
